Company culture

What attracts top talent to MessageMedia?

We believe that everything starts with the right environment.

A high performance culture is the first step in building a successful business. It helps us attract and retain the best people, and it’s the driver behind great commercial results – a talented, enthusiastic team generates positive outcomes for everyone involved.

So what makes our culture different? MessageMedia is not a conventional company with a lot of rules and a strict hierarchy, and we don’t intend to become one. We have an open, collaborative mentality that encourages innovation, passion and out-performance. The fact we’re growing quickly and expanding overseas generates enthusiasm too, our team can see they’re part of something special, and the opportunities are endless.

Our team members describe the atmosphere as open, passionate and results-orientated. And they should know, they make it happen. Every MessageMedian is driven to get the best from themselves, and as a company, we are determined to give them every opportunity to fulfil their potential.

Giving something back – some things are even more important than SMS!

MessageMedia is not just a business that provides a service. Our team feels strongly about lending a hand, and as a company we’ve embraced a range of initiatives that give something back to the community... from monthly lunches where the proceeds go to charity, to an annual donation at Christmas time.

We also work with Kiva, an organisation that facilitates lending to entrepreneurs in Third World countries. MessageMedia is a company that values enterprise and a pioneering spirit - it’s how we got started ourselves – and we see lending to entrepreneurs as a way to lift them out of poverty for the long term.

The concept of corporate philanthropy also helps us attract a unique type of talent – well rounded people that are both driven and compassionate are what we look for in a candidate.

Flexibility

Experience tells us that high-achievers get the best out of themselves when they have genuine “ownership” of their role. Accordingly, we have flexible options (e.g. starting times and dress code) that allow our uniquely talented team to customise their work hours to suit their requirements.
